Welcome to Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Karoi College of Education, the 20th teacher training institution in Zimbabwe. Established by the Roman Catholic Church in partnership with the Karoi Town Council, our college represents a historic milestone as the first dedicated teacher-training institution in Mashonaland West Province , bringing high-quality, tertiary education directly to the Hurungwe and Kariba districts.
Rooted in the rich traditions of the Catholic faith and the cultural wisdom of Unhu/Ubuntu, OLPH Karoi College of Education is dedicated to more than just academic instruction. Our mission is to nurture the whole person—developing educators who are not only academically and technologically competent for the 21st century, but also morally upright, disciplined, and spiritually grounded.
Courses On Offer
Both courses are accredited by the University Of Zimbabwe.
General Course/ Junior Course
The course is designed for Post 'O' level students pursuing a three-year pre-service course for the Diploma in Education Primary certified by the University of Zimbabwe. The course is designed for those who would want to teach at Primary School from Grade 4-7
Early Childhood Development (ECD)
The course is a three-year pre-service Teacher Education course certified by the University of Zimbabwe. The course offers the student teachers specialist knowledge and skills to care for babies (0-12 months) and toddlers (2-3 years) and effectively teaches at preschool and infant grade levels.
